Conrad Smith
CEO
Conrad Smith currently serves as the CEO and majority owner of FCS, Incorporated. Conrad officially joined the company in 2005, when the company had just eight (8) employees and provided a very limited service offering of basic janitorial services and floor care. He began working in all aspects of the company from supervising employees to pricing new accounts. The company began to attract larger and larger customers over the first few years, creating opportunities to branch in to multiple service lanes for large industrial customers. Today, FCS has three (3) distinct service divisions with roughly 200 employees and a growing customer base across a large portion of the country.
Smith oversees all daily operations for the company, with a focus on major account development.
Smith is a 2003 graduate of Danville Community College, a 2005 graduate of Averett University with a degree in Political Science, and a 2006 graduate of Johnson Diversey’s Building Service Contracting Institute in Racine, Wisconsin. In 2009, Smith received designation as a Certified Building Services Executive (CBSE) through the Building Service Contractors Association.
Smith is very active in the Danville community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Danville Area Boys and Girls Club, Danville Speech and Hearing Center, and The Danville Golf Club, where he serves as its president.
Stuart Smith
CFO
Stuart Smith serves as CFO and Vice President of FCS, Incorporated. The youngest son of founder Buddy Smith, he oversees all financial operations for the company. He graduated as valedictorian from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia before attending The College of William and Mary where he graduated with high honors and a degree in history. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Accounting degree from The University of Alabama-Birmingham. His civic involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for The River District Association, as well as volunteer work for several local organizations.
Prior to joining FCS, Inc., he spent several years working in operations for a large international patent law firm in northern Virginia. He oversees all aspects of the back office and financial operations for the company and holds a minority ownership stake.
Buddy Smith
Founder
Buddy Smith is the founder of FCS, Incorporated. Smith founded FCS, Incorporated in 1988. He is a 1976 graduate of Averett University and holds degrees in both Business Management and Mathematics. After college, Smith entered the Kroger Company as a store manager and served in that capacity for eight years. He then took a position with Diamond Paper Company, a janitorial and paper supply company based in Danville, Virginia. Smith quickly became Diamond’s janitorial expert, servicing many major accounts throughout North and South Carolina. During that time, Smith trained housekeeping departments for major universities, hospitals, nursing homes, and industrial plants.
As an expert in the field, Smith was featured in training videos produced by Johnson Diversey, the largest janitorial chemical manufacturer in the world. Smith left Diamond Paper Company in 1998 to focus on the expansion of FCS, Incorporated. Buddy retired at the end of 2015, but his mark on the business will never leave.
Kim Wyatt
Office Administrator
Kim Wyatt joined FCS in 2016 and serves as the office administrator. She graduated from Averett University with a Bachelors of Finance. Prior to joining FCS, Inc. she worked for 15 years in various administrative positions with Danville Regional Medical Center and Lifepoint Hospitals. She coordinates all corporate office functions from Danville, Virginia.
Mike Owens
General Manager
Mike currently serves as the General Manager for our industrial services division. Mike is a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Mike oversees all aspects of our services including jobsite safety, project planning, and quality control. Prior to joining FCS, Mike held multiple management level positions in maintenance departments with various heavy manufacturing operations.
Russ Hudson
Project Manager
Russ currently serves as Project Manager with our industrial services division. Russ provides "hands on" leadership for all types of projects, and is an integral part of our team. Russ joined FCS as a front line worker, and quickly moved into a leadership role. Prior to joining the FCS team, his career experience was in the turf management field and included the role of assistant superintendent at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course in California.
